Jub is a Nyul Nyul/Yawuru woman from the Kimberley regions of WA.
Graduating in 97’ from WAAPA’s 3 year Acting course, Jub spent many years performing for numerous theatre companies before moving to film and TV, working on The Circuit 1 & 2, Bran Nue Dae, Mad Bastards, Satellite Boy, Jandamarra’s War, Jasper Jones and Mystery RD- Season 1.
Jub has directed over fifteen mini docs for Indigenous Community Stories and written/directed short films and docs, Storytime, Music Men, Min Min Light, Molly & Cara as well as Abbreviation, from Tim Winton’s feature - The Turning.
For NITV, Jub reported for entertainment show, Around the Traps and hosted kids’ series, Mugu Kids. Jub wrote her first play, The Fever and the Fret, which premièred in 2015 at Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and won the 2017 ‘Kate Challis Award’.
Since 2010 Jub has been performing as a Soprano in the world’s first Aboriginal Opera, Pecan Summer, and will go on to become Associate Director for their 10 year anniversary production.
In 2019 Jub directed her first TV credit on two episodes of ABC TV series The Heights - Season 2 for Matchbox and For Pete’s Sake Productions.
Jub has co-written and directed her first feature feature Sweet As which premiered in August 2022 at the Melbourne International Film Festival, winning the Innovation Award. Sweet As had its international premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the NETPAC Award for best film from the Asia/Pacific region. At the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival the film was awarded the jury the Crystal Bear in the Generation Kplus competion.
